DJ Isaac's Background and Podcast

DJ Isacc

Roel 'DJ Isaac' Schutrups was born in the northern part of Holland on June 8th 1974. Inspired by Ben Liebrand, he started his music career as a re-mixer for Dutch radio stations with an oldschool tape recorder and a small Casio sampler.

Through the years he bought new and better equipment and started to develop his own unique style of production which resulted in his first record called "Bad Dreams" which was released in 1995 and became a huge Dutch hardcore techno hit as well as "Face Down Ass Up" which came out 2 years later.

DJ Isaac started deejaying as well and became one of the pioneers of Dutch hardcore techno. He played on huge events like Qlimax, In Qontrol and Defqon and showed his skills all over the globe in countries like America, Australia, Japan, Colombia, Russia, Italy, and Spain.

In 1999 DJ Isaac made his first club-trance remix of Hani's "Baby Wants To Ride" which became a top ten chart hit in Europe. In 2000, Isaac received a platinum record for his contribution to the Alice Deejay album "Who needs guitars anyway. In 2003, Isaac's own label: X-Rate Records. Under this label, he usually brings his own work and the cooperation with Zany , What You Need .

Every month, Isaac plays his favorite hardstyle tracks in Isaac's hardstyle sessions. Subscribe to this official Q-dance podcast to automatically get updated. This can be done through the iTunes website or easier yet through the iTunes program. I have been listening to his latest podcast' s and they are pretty wicked, they are not only new records but also old school records from years and years ago that is why I am enjoying them so much. I would definitely recommend checking the podcast out if you want to hear all parts of the Hardstyle genre that one of the largest DJ's in Hardstyle mix's himself.

Prophecy - Chaos Rising

The week has finally arrived and this weekend I am going to Prophecy - Chaos Rising (poster above). I bought my tickets months ago and have been waiting for this rave to finally come since I went to Utopia - Fire & Ice a few months back. This is going to be my first pure "Hardcore" rave I have been to (excluding HTID - Hardcore till you die cause that was total rubbish) so I don't know what the atmosphere is going to be like. I am sure it's going to be the same as most Hardstyle raves but a cannot be sure till I get in there.

The line up looks amazing with 10 international DJ's that I have heard and love. I pretty much want to see everyone of the international DJ's except I do not know what to expect from Neophyte Record All Stars so that will be a surprise. The event goes from 6PM - 6AM and is 16+ so it's going to be attracting some of the more immature and dis respective ravers but that is basically the only down side.

Line up.

Neophyte (NL) -
Evil Activities (NL)
Alpha2 (NL)
Tha Playah (NL)
Neophyte Record All Stars (NL)
Max Enforcer (NL)
Mad Dog (ITA)
Panic (NL)
Beholder (NL)
Balistic (NL)

Nik Fish
S Dee
X Dream
MC Losty

As you can see a strong international lineup with some Australian DJ's which are alright but have seen to many times before. Tickets are still out for you Australian fans at

Happy Raving!

Defqon.1 2011 Come To A Close

Defqon.1 2011 in the Netherlands has come to an end, the event went smooth and without problems. Looking at the videos and pictures now really makes me jealous of how large and well established the Hardstyle festivals are in Europe. It just makes me all that more excited for Defqon.1 that is comeing up later this year in Australia, although the artist line up is not the best I know that Q-Dance will deliver a great atmosphere for the festival as they did this year at Biddinghuizen.

The pictures look phenomenal and I will leave you guys with a variety of my favorite ones.

Out very own top 2 Australian Hardstyle DJ's Rocking the Main Stage.
Tonshifterz: Middle Two, Bioweapon: Outer Two

Just Amazing!

Hope everyone got to experience some of this years Defqon.1. If you are Australian stay tuned for this years Defqon.1 that is on the 17th September, 2011.

Headhunterz Pod Cast

If you call your self a Hardstyle fan and you do not know who Headhunterz is, well you have been living under a rock for the past few years. Headhunterz, who was formerly known as Nasty D-Tuners, consisting of Willem Rebergen (born 12 September 1985) and Bobby van Putten. They own their own sub label, Scantraxx Reloaded which is part of the Scantraxx Record label that was discovered by The Prophet. Nowadays Headhunterz only features Willem Rebergen as Bobby van Putten stopped to peruse further education.

Since he was discovered by The Prophet and being signed by Scantraxx he has played at every major Hardstyle event including Defqon 1, Qlimax, Q-Base, In Qontrol, Decibel just to name a few. In 2010, Headhunterz was ranked at position 36 in DJ Magazine's yearly top 100 DJ's list. It was the first year any Hardstyle DJ made it into the top 100. Accompanying Headhunterz, hardstyle artists D-Block & S-te-Fan ranked 73rd, Noisecontrollers 90th and Showtek 91st. This made Headhunterz the #1 Hard Dance DJ of 2010.

Last month Headhunterz released that he was going to be releasing monthly pod casts that will feature 60 minutes of "pure quality productions" from various well known and not so well know artists. To say the least I absolutely love his first pod cast and am listening to his second pod cast now! If you are into Hardstyle these pod casts are a must! You can get them through iTunes all you have to do is open up iTunes go to the iTunes store and search "Hard With Style" then subscribe to the podcast. It is that easy and for FREE monthly, dirty beats, it is well worth it. Watch out it might blow your speakers!

Defqon.1 Festival

Defqon.1 is fast approaching us, and if you do not know what Defqon.1 is it is one of the largest yearly festivals aimed at Hardstyle music held by Q-Dance. It is held yearly in the Netherlands and has recently expanded and debuted in Australia on the 19th of September 2009, this was the first time that the festival has ever left European shores. The festival has grown large over the years to the point where in 2009 and 2010 it took 39 minutes before ALL 40,000 tickets were sold out, and with a whopping 13 stages total you can see why.

The main festival is to begin on the 25th of June in the Netherlands, but the "Extended" camping experience starts on the 24th. You can listen to the full coverage of the festival on the Official Q-Dance website starting at Friday the 24th of June, 15:00 (GMT+1) - Sunday the 26th of June, 23:00 (GMT+1)  or Saturday the 25th of June, 00:00(GMT+10) -  Monday the 27th of June, 08:00(GMT+10) which is Australian(NSW) time.
